June 29th, our Parish of SS Peter & Paul Feast Day, was also the day when the ladies of the CWL have their famous “Strawberry Tea”.
At our previous meeting on the 14th May arrangements were made and plans for the event noted.
At 12 noon on the 29th we arrived to start preparing the parish centre. Tables were set with pretty cloths and small vases of flowers. Members of the CWL then turned up bearing delicious food: cakes, savouries, salads and lots more.
Teapot at the ready and cups laid out we took a well-earned four minutes rest.
One of the smaller tables was set aside for an array of crafts, knitted items, hand-made cards and charming gift boxes, to name just a few.
Guests started to arrive and were greeted with a welcoming smile. The afternoon was a wonderful success with everyone enjoying the food, especially the strawberries and ice cream.
The afternoon drew to a close but not before the excitement of the raffle with some super prizes. A big thank you to everyone who helped to make it such a success.
