After many cloudy days the sun made a welcome appearance for the ladies of CWL who were busy preparing for their annual strawberry tea. The tables were set with lovely colourful cloths and vases filled with seasonal flowers.
St Peter and St Paul’s being the name of our church the 29th of June or as near as possible was the chosen date for this event.
The food began to arrive: tempting sandwiches, luscious desserts, healthy salads and cakes to please everyone, a feast to behold.
Each year the money raised is set aside for a chosen charity. This year the money will be sent to FISH, which stands for Food In School Holidays. Many children who receive free school meals will go hungry during the holidays. This money provides the parent with vouchers that can be spent on healthy food.
Tired but proud, at the end of the day the takings were added up and we were delighted to have made over £550. A magnificent effort from everyone, thank you.
