On 6th August 2019, a minibus of parishioners left for a day pilgrimage to Walsingham. The day started with Fr Eddy giving us a blessing and then we headed off. We arrived for Mass, with time to spare, which many used to offer their intentions in the Slipper chapel. After Mass, with an inspirational homily on the Transfiguration, a group photograph was taken. We then recited the rosary, with pilgrims outside of our group joining in. After lunch, we left the Catholic shrine to go to the Anglican shrine and without planning, arrived in time for the sprinkling ceremony, which proved an unexpected blessing. From there we headed to Wells-next-the-sea and enjoyed sea air, fish &chips and a vibrant rainbow (a little reminder perhaps that we were on pilgrimage). Twelve hours after departure we arrived back where we had started, in the church car park, albeit new people, changed in ways which are yet to become evident.
Thanks to Deacon Peter for organising and driving the minibus and to each pilgrim for helping to make a memorable day and a wonderful pilgrimage. Thank you Our Lady of Walsingham, thank you Lord.
